Can you answer Nonoy’s question about Arthritis?:
I was wondering why doctors simply diagnose patients to be afflicted with rheumatism without tests at all. Their priscriptions usually end up as PAIN RELIEVERS only with costs widely gapped. NOT cure thus the pain always return after the priscribed drug is consumed or after the pain has become emmune to the drug.

Arthritis Feedback: Rheumatoid arthritis is a difficult disease to diagnose as there are no definitive tests that ensure a 100% accurate diagnosis. Diagnosis is usually made based on a trend in a series of lab tests and by the history and physical. Even people who have a positive RA factor may not have RA. People who have a genetic HLA (human leukocyte antigen) may be predisposed to it but not necessarily experiencing it. You may also see an elevated sedimentation rate and possibly some anemia. You will see an increase in uric acid levels, but that is not specific to this disease.
Like I said, the history and physical are often the best clues to what’s going on.
Arthritis Feedback: I do not know of any doctor that diagnoses rheumatic disease with out test at all. If your doctor did then it is time to see a new doctor.
It is hard to diagnose Rheumatic forms of arthritis. The way different forms of autoimmune forms of arthritis are treated are different. Therefore it is important to get a proper diagnosis.
