What does it mean when you have swollen armpits and joint pain?

Can you answer Aliza E’s question about Arthritis?:

I have swollen lymph nodes and joint pain. My throat hurts and I have a headach. I went to the pediatricians a couple of days ago and he prescirbed me an antibiotic. It’s not working. I’ve stayed home from school for the last couple of days. What do I have and what can I do to treat it?

Arthritis Feedback: You might have the flu…joint pain sucks big time I know…I’d just rest and drink lots of water…and take that antibiotic!!!

Arthritis Feedback: Return to the doctor. If the antibiotic is not helping, you need further workup. It could be extremely serious.

Arthritis Feedback: you need to return to the doctor because if you aren’t feeling any relief then obviously your antiobiotic isn’t working and it could be something either resistent to the antibiotic prescribed to you or something more serious than can be treated by an antibiotic. You said you have a headache, any stiff neck along with that? Headache and joint pain along with a stiff neck is a big indicator of meningitis - seriously go back to the doctor.
